What's the news?
SEAT has revised the Altea and Altea XL model ranges with a single trim grade, I TECH, which replaces 'Copa SE' trim. Equipment levels are increased but the price remains the same, starting at £19,345. Orders are being taken now with the first cars due in December.
New features include 16-inch titanium finish alloy wheels, front parking sensors, a colour screen for rear seat passengers and forward sliding rear seats. There are also two additional paint colours: Bahama Blue and Technic Grey.
Customers can choose between two turbodiesel engines: the 1.6-litre TDI Ecomotive with 105hp or the 2.0-litre, 140hp unit. The smaller engine can be specified with manual or DSG automatic transmissions. SEAT claims the Ecomotive can manage 62.8mpg with either transmission.
Anything else?
The Altea XL is longer and slightly taller, with a bigger boot - 532 litres compared with 409 - and is priced from £20,065.
