SEAT is introducing the Copa badge to its Altea and Altea XL models; offering buyers over £1,000 worth of equipment free of charge. The Copa edition was first introduced to the Leon where SEAT claims it enjoyed great sales success.
Based on the standard S and SE trim levels, the S Copa adds 16-inch 'Elio' alloy wheels and front fog lights with cornering function to the standard package. Inside, the S Copa includes Bluetooth, an upgraded stereo, cruise control and dual-zone climate control. The extra equipment equates to around £1,500 and is available at no extra charge.
More goodies are to be found on the SE Copa trim level, too. Each model comes with the latest SEAT Media 2.2 infotainment system. Satellite navigation, an SD card slot, Bluetooth and a DAB radio all come as part of the package; with all of the controls contained inside a five-inch touchscreen. Add to this the rear parking sensors, rain sensing wipers and auto-dimming rear view mirror and the SE Copa racks up about £1,100 worth of toys for free.
"We haven't just added lots of equipment to the cars for the sake of it," comments James Buckell, SEAT UK Project Manager. "We've listened to what our buyers really want and only added equipment that's of real use and value."
As well as the new edition, SEAT has tidied up the engine range. Both 1.4-litre petrol engines have gone leaving the 103hp 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine along with the 1.6- and 2.0-litre TDI units.
The new Altea range is available to order now, with showrooms expecting first deliveries by the end of January. Prices start at £16,425 and rise to £21,980.
