What's this then?
Mitsubishi's long-lived Shogun has been given a new look for the 2015 model year. It retains the traditional off-road styling cues (including the short front overhang, upright windscreen and tail-mounted spare wheel), but adds some up-to-date details.
What's new exactly?
The main change is a deeper radiator grille that divides the front bumper; in addition there are new, LED daytime running lights. Long wheelbase models also get updated rear-end styling. Inside, the SG2 versions get a new audio unit, shared with the ASX3 and Outlander GX3. Mechanically the Shogun is essentially unchanged but versions with automatic transmission do gain improved sound deadening.
How much does it cost?
Prices start at £28,599 for the long wheelbase SG2 manual with automatic transmission costing £1,685 extra. Short wheelbase models include the £29,369 Warrior and £31,999 Barbarian. All UK market Shoguns come with a 3.2-litre, 16-valve, four-cylinder turbodiesel that develops 197hp and 441Nm.
