What's all this about?
It's a new little crossover from Citroen, that's about the size of a Peugeot 2008.
Ooh, fancy. What more can you tell me about it?
It is called the C3-XR and it's powered by a 1.6-litre THP petrol engine making 160hp, driving an unspecified the front wheels through an EAT6 automatic gearbox. It goes on sale in December this year.
What's it like inside?
No images as yet, but Citroen says it possesses 'comfort at the highest level, thanks to benchmark levels of spaciousness, a roomy and welcoming driving position, and ride quality worthy of the best saloons'. The C3-XR will also feature plenty of technology, such as keyless entry and go, a reversing camera and 'grip control'. Sounds promising, eh?
I'm not sure about the exterior. There's something odd about the styling.
Well spotted. The bad news is... this is a Chinese market-only car, to be built in the country's Wuhan plant and styled for that particular market. China is a big growth area for Citroen, you see.
Right. So presumably this will be unveiled in China?
Erm, no, on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, actually. Although the C3-XR is very, very similar to the C-XR concept seen at the Beijing show earlier this year, so you could almost class that as a Chinese debut...
