What's the news?
Way back in 1993 Lord March opened the grounds to his Goodwood manor to the public and a legend was born. Present at the inaugural Goodwood Festival of Speed were 10 Honda NSXs, which were driven up the famous hillclimb by UK motoring journalists. Twenty-one years later the same venue will play host to the European dynamic debut of the 21st century NSX.
In case you have been living under a stone since the 2012 Detroit Auto Show (or stopped caring soon after) the new NSX is a twin-turbo V6-powered hybrid supercar with three electric motors to provide torque-vectoring capabilities, four-wheel drive and enough electric running power to keep the greenies happy. Or at least it will be in 2015, as the car present in Goodwood on June 27-29 will be (yet another) prototype.
Anything else?
Alongside the prototype NSX will be an original 3.0-litre NSX, from 1989, as driven by one Ayrton Senna da Silva. Senna of course was instrumental in honing the dynamics of the car, which went head-to-head with the Ferrari 348.
