What's all this about?
Honda has revealed its line-up for the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show, held in early March.
Are there any surprises?
Not really, but that doesn't mean the Japanese carmaker's stand will be one to avoid. That's chiefly because the show will see the world debut of the Civic Type R, now turbocharged and rumoured to have around 300hp, and the European premiere of the NSX hybrid supercar, which was recently unveiled at NAIAS in Detroit in Acura guise.
Can find out more about these hot Hondas?
For the CTR, there's now a microsite where you can explore and share Type R content, as well as access exclusive snapshots of the car ahead of the Geneva debut. Go to www.redline.global.
What else will Honda have on the stand? An Accord Type R? A new Integra?
You wish. Two more debuts are slated for cars that are perhaps less scintillating than the CTR and NSX, but are no less important in terms of the future success of Honda. The first is the all-new HR-V, a B-segment crossover that rekindles a badge that died in 2006, while the second is the third generation of the Jazz hatchback, now powered by a brand new 1.3-litre petrol engine.
You're right, they're less exciting. Tell me there's something else to get the juices flowing.
Well, the 2015 McLaren-Honda F1 car will be on the stand, ahead of its debut at the season's opener in Melbourne, Australia, on March 15. That's worth a good look, especially as this pairing won four F1 Constructors' Championships between 1988 and 1991. In addition, there's a fuel-cell zero-emissions vehicle, the FCV Concept, which will be the first time it has been seen in Europe.
