What's the news?
ABT has gotten its hands on the new Golf Mk VII, enhancing both the car's image and performance figures.
Exterior
ABT has created a full bespoke body kit for the new Golf. A new front bumper, grille and headlights are fitted at the front, with a new insert for the bumper and quad exhaust pipes round the back. ABT has also installed new mirrors and sill extensions. The alloy wheels have been replaced too; available in either 18- or 19-inches in diameter, they can be fitted with branded sports tyres upon request.
Interior
As no details have been released with regards to interior spec, we can only assume that the standard high quality Volkswagen fit and finish will be carried forward to the ABT model; however we expect it to come with a few toys inside.
Mechanicals
Every engine fitted to the standard Golf has been tweaked by ABT to give more power. The base-level 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine now produces 105hp - up from 86hp in standard tune; with the biggest power hike coming from the 2.0-litre TDI unit, increasing the output from 184- to 210hp. A new sports suspension system has also been fitted to the Golf, lowering the ride height and the car's centre of gravity.
All safety features have been carried forward from the standard models.
Anything else?
