Take one 600hp/800Nm Audi RS 7 Sportback, swap out its turbochargers and its intercooler for uprated items, muck about with its ECU and what have you got? Answer: this utter brute. It's called the Abt RS7-R (yes, the space in 'RS 7' has gone) and it is from the famed German tuning house long associated with Audi. By fitting its own turbos and 'cooler, Abt has ramped the RS7-R to the giddy heights of 740hp and 920Nm. No official word on what that does to the standard RS 7's 0-62mph time of 3.6 seconds (although we'd be ready to bet it makes the RS7-R even more ferociously quick), but Abt will lift the speed limiter from the standard car's 155- to 200mph; Audi will only let the RS 7 go to 190mph with an optional limited. Beyond the engine work, the RS7-R gains Abt's height-adjustable coilover suspension kit and anti-roll bars, a set of 22-inch High Performance HR22 alloy wheels, the Abt exhaust system with carbon-fibre quad-tailpipe finishers each with a 107mm diameter, a load of additional carbon fibre on the inside and out, and some 'Abt' and 'RS7-R' logos dotted here and there. The price for all this is €69,900 (about £61,365) and that includes fitting and painting, as well as a two-year guarantee on all the parts that doesn't invalidate the Audi manufacturer warranty - but your donor RS 7 needs to have the RS Dynamic Pack, the RS Suspension Plus with Dynamic Ride Control, the Carbon/Gloss Black exterior package and dark-coloured door-mirror caps. Oh, and Abt will only make 125 of these RS7-R models, hence the '1 of 125' sill plate you'll get as part of the kit for this ultimate A7 Sportback. So move fast to bag one; in fact, move almost as fast as the car will do, once you've treated it to such lunacy.
