McLaren has released pictures of the MP4-12C undergoing hot weather testing in Arizona.
A 28-strong team has been working in temperatures of up to 46 degrees Celsius with three prototype 12Cs. The development regime included high-speed handling at a proving ground and high altitude driving on public roads. The test routes involved travelling through places such as Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon.
Reports are that the engine and bespoke air conditioning components performed well under the test conditions. The development engineers apparently also received positive comments on the car's styling and exhaust note from members of the public while it was on test.
Meanwhile, in Europe, McLaren will offer prospective customers the opportunity to take a closer look at a silver prototype 12C and a rolling chassis in Paris. Design Director, Frank Stephenson, will be there to unveil the car and over 300 guests are expected to attend over two days. The viewing will take place shortly after the opening of the
Paris Motor Show.
