It must be tough being Jay Leno. All the money in the world to indulge his car fantasies and some super-early access to some of the latest metal (or carbon fibre). The comedian and car nut has beaten everyone out there to a passenger ride in a prototype of McLaren's new MP4-12C, which happened to be at the Top Gear test track when Leno was doing some laps in a Lacetti.
Jay reports that the McLaren offers strong acceleration and that the 'engine revs to 9,000rpm,' giving the car a big thumbs up. From the passenger seat he calls it 'very stable', and speaks to Chris Goodwin, McLaren's Chief Test Driver, about the high levels of grip on offer - in the wet and dry. No doubt Ron's in receipt of a deposit from Leno. After all the comedian will need one to park alongside the black McLaren F1 that makes up part of his extensive, expensive and drool-worthy garage. Like we said, it must be tough...
