The world public debut of the McLaren MP4-12C supercar will take place this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is the first time that the car will be seen and driven in public. Formula 1 world champions, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, will be on hand to put the successor to the 1998 McLaren F1 road car through its paces in the Supercar Run on Saturday and Sunday.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual event taking place this year from Thursday 1- Sunday 4 July. Car enthusiasts from around the world flock to one of the best automotive festivals on offer every year where a weekend of thrills and hanging with the celebrities of the motoring world awaits.
Powering McLaren's latest offering is a twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 592bhp. Top speed is estimated at 205mph and 0-62mph is 3.4 seconds.
The MP4-12C will go on sale in the spring of 2011 through a network of 35 retailers in 19 countries and will be priced between £125,000 and £175,000.
