One of our gripes with the VW Passat CC, as few in number as they are, is that it's hamstrung by only having four seats. Well, VW has now rectified that issue.
As part of a package of revisions, none of them cosmetic, VW has put a traditional rear bench into the CC, ergo giving the car a fifth seat.
Satellite navigation is now standard across the range, as is Bluetooth, both operated using VW's lovely touch-screen interface. Two-zone climate control and 17-inch alloys always were, making the CC a well equipped saloon-slash-coupé in any guise.
Even more so in GT spec, which now gets softer leather for the seats, front and back parking sensors, cruise control and 18-inch rims. Prices have gone up a little, but the £1,000 worth of extra stuff in the standard car costs £515 more, and the £3,000 in the GT requires an extra grand.
The engine line-up is unchanged, with a 1.8-litre TSI at the bottom and a 3.6-litre V6 at the top. There are a couple of diesels too.
