Porsche has announced the prices for the Panamera and released more details of equipment and specification. The range starts with the Panamera S, which costs £72,266 and will go on sale in September.
At launch there will be three models, all powered by a 4.8-litre V8 engine. The line up will consist of the Panamera S (£72,266), 4S (£77,269) and Turbo (£95,928). The naturally aspirated motor has 400bhp while the Turbo has 500bhp. A petrol V6 with 300bhp will join the range at a later date. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard on the S while Porsche’s seven-speed double-clutch PDK transmission is a £2,289 option. The four-wheel drive 4S and Turbo both come with PDK as standard.
Standard equipment across the range includes leather upholstery, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), satellite navigation and integrated Bluetooth. The Turbo gains adaptive air suspension, BOSE audio system and 14-way electrically adjusted front seats with memory for the seat and steering column positions. Optional equipment includes adjustable rear seats, rear seat ventilation and a rear illumination package with 'high power reading lights.'
A Thatcham Category 5 approved security system should keep the Panamera out of nefarious hands. To help owners keep their new car out of hedgerows they'll be able to explore the potential of their new purchase at the Porsche Experience Centre in Silverstone.
The Panamera will be officially unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show on 19th April and will go on sale on 12th September.
