What's this then?
One of the busiest stands at Frankfurt, Hyundai previewed virtual, near future and far future tech as the firm promises an N performance future, and more luxurious models. The big news is its new N brand, which will signify Hyundai's high performance kit in the future, cars that borrow from the likes of the i20 World Rally Car it's showing, which shares some space with its less exciting, if far more relevant to buyers, regular i20 relation.
There's a crazy mid-engined aluminium spaceframed 2.0-litre turbocharged RM15 concept too. It might sound like a postcode, but it looks a bit mad and a bit brilliant, and perhaps a bit too complete just to be a concept. Did anyone say single make race series? Perhaps behind closed doors they might have, but we'd like to see it.
As if a rally car, a new hatchback, the facelifted Santa Fe, performance sub brand and that bonkers RM15 weren't enough Hyundai's showing another N-badged flight of fancy, the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo. Forget ever driving it, except with your thumbs, as this one is entirely virtual, and only if you've got a PlayStation.
If that's all too much for you then you might want to calm down in the serenity of the Vision G's interior, Hyundai's other concept on display. A signal that it's aiming big, by that we mean upmarket, the G might have Infiniti-like styling, but it's loaded with innovation. It's only a concept for now, but given how well the firm's done elsewhere, the Germans should be a little bit worried on their home turf.
