What's the news?
As part of the newly-named Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) assault on the US market, Maserati has premiered its new advert for the Ghibli saloon. Entitled 'Strike', the advert filled a 90-second slot during the first quarter of America's biggest sporting event, the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII.
Maserati has some ambitious sales goals for the North American market, and there's surely no better way of grabbing a nation's attention than sticking on an ad when comfortably more than 100 million Americans are watching the game.
The ad itself is a stylish affair, directed by David Gordon Green and featuring Oscar-nominated child actress Quvenzhané Wallis speaking a stirring monologue (or should that be apologue?) before you get a glimpse of the Ghibli in action. Sounds great, too.
Mechanicals
Just as a reminder we're a car site and not some ad-loving analysts, the Ghibli has a Ferrari-built twin-turbo V6 engine making more than 400hp and sending drive to all four wheels. It was first unveiled in the States at the LA Auto Show in November, and is on sale for $66,900 across the Pond.
Anything else?
