What's the news?
Unhinged. Yup, it's probably as good an adjective as any to describe Brabus. Only this time, it has gone completely off the scale. Welcome then, to the Brabus 850 Biturbo Wagon - a monster 6.0-litre Biturbo V8 all-wheel drive estate with, wait for it, 850hp. It's been given its world premiere at the Essen Motor Show and is based on the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG Estate. And yes, we double-checked that too - a family estate with 850hp.
Exterior
It's like it has been down at the West Coast Custom outlet in hell. Mad, bad and dangerous to know.
Interior
Expect high quality in here. Once an order is placed with Brabus, a selection of the softest, breathable leathers or Alcantara can be picked in any colour the customer desires. Lucky owners also get bespoke Brabus aluminium shift paddles and pedals. A complete new car can be ordered or any current Mercedes E 63 can be converted up by Brabus.
Mechanicals
Right then, down to business. Along with 850hp and 1,450Nm of torque, the 850 Biturbo Wagon launches to 62mph from rest in an unholy 3.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 186mph, but using high-performance tyres and some tweaking, together with a remapped ECU, an insane 217mph is achievable. Engine capacity rises also from the E 63's 5,461- to 5,912cc.
Anything else?
Are you joking? Well, there is a saloon available too. But surely the greatest fun to be had is annihilating a supercar at the lights, with the family Labrador in the back?
