What's the news?
Vauxhall has announced that the Mokka's new 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine can now be specified with front-wheel drive. The recently launched engine was previously only available in the all-wheel drive model, but with the absence of a heavy four-wheel drive system the two-wheel drive model makes far more sense on the wallet.
Exterior
On the whole, the latest Mokka looks no different to the rest of the range; however, a new paint finish has been added to Vauxhall's palette. The Orange Rock metallic colour certainly sounds like a loud and eye-catching paint finish to pick; and would certainly stand out alongside the new optional 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels (we don't have images of either at the time of writing).
Interior
New to the Mokka's options list are two infotainment systems. The CD 600 system features a high-resolution, seven-inch screen that is used to display all of the car's entertainment information. The higher grade Navi 950 option uses this screen to provide Europe-wide satellite navigation that can be updated via a USB port; and a Bose sound system comprising of six speakers, a subwoofer and amplifier. Both systems can be specified with the Mokka's optional rear-view camera, too.
Mechanicals
The 140hp 1.4-litre turbocharged engine residing under the Mokka's bonnet is linked up to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, although an automatic can be specified. The 0-62mph time is recorded as 9.9 seconds and its top speed is a respectable 120mph. Thanks in part to its stop-start system a 47.9mpg combined fuel economy figure has been attained and CO2 emissions sit at 139g/km.
Anything else?
Prices for the new model start at £16,719 and order books are open now.
