Back
in November we reported on the creation of Société des Automobiles Alpine Caterham , a joint venture between Renault and Caterham that revives the iconic Alpine brand. The project has taken a step forward today with the announcement of the formation of an Alpine Advisory Board. Designed to advise and assist management regarding the brand's positioning and to monitor the evolution of the brand's upcoming model from its initial design until its launch, the board is directly answerable to Renault CEO, Carlos Tavares.
The members of the board have apparently been selected for their expertise, personal knowledge and involvement in the Alpine brand and include such luminaries as Michèle Mouton (Alpine rally driver from 1974 until 1977), Alain Serpaggi (former rally driver and former Alpine test driver), Jacques Cheinisse (former sporting director of Alpine) and Bernard Darniche who helped Alpine win the inaugural World Rally Championship for Manufacturers in 1973.
The Alpine advisory board will meet twice a year with the first meeting scheduled for a few weeks' time.
