What's the news?
Following a race series win for the Evora in the MSA British Endurance Championship, Lotus has launched a new Evora 'Sports Racer'. Visual, gadgetry and mechanical tweaks make up the new model's enhancements.
Exterior
A choice of four exclusive colours are available, all of which come with contrasting black door mirrors, roof, front splitter, rear diffuser and alloy wheels. The brake callipers can also be specified with either a red or black paint finish.
Interior
The 'Premium Sports' seats are upholstered in black leather with contrasting red stitching and the dashboard is finished in grey SuedeTex. The standard fit Tech Pack adds an upgraded stereo comprising of a DVD player, a seven-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth, iPod connectivity and upgraded speakers. Cruise control, parking sensors and a reversing camera are also standard equipment.
Mechanicals
Although powered by the standard 3.5-litre V6 engine found in the regular Evora, the Sports Racer comes equipped with the Evora's Sports Pack. This provides the rear diffuser mentioned earlier, cross-drilled brake discs and a selectable Sport mode that gives a sharper throttle response and a higher rev limiter.
Anything else?
The Sports Racer is available as either an Evora or as a supercharged Evora S, priced from £57,900 and £65,900 respectively. In terms of value for money, a standard Evora S with both the Sport and Tech Packs added would cost a massive £7,150 more than the Sports Racer version. The new model is available for ordering now.
