What's the news?
British sports car manufacturer and engineering consultancy, Lotus, is to add to its 1,000-strong Norfolk workforce with 100 new positions just created. The recruitment programme comes on the back of a £100 million investment from owners DRB-HICOM. The firm will recruit 45 specialist engineers and 40 manufacturing operatives, along with 18 graduates.
The manufacturing operatives will head straight for the production line in Hethel to build Lotus cars, like the recently introduced Exige S Roadster, while the engineers and graduates will work within Lotus Engineering, a Lotus sub-division that offers engineering consultancy services.
"Lotus' successes have always been built on our talented and dedicated workforce and as we embark on a period of strengthening," said Mark Pym, Group Head of Human Resources. "It's crucial that we grow our workforce to support this."
Aslam Farikullah, Chief Operating Officer at Lotus, said: "We want Lotus to be at the forefront of the global automotive industry and for us to remain competitive, we will introduce more exciting products - there has never been a better time to be part of the future of Lotus."
