China is Audi's biggest market ahead of the UK, USA and Germany, so it is no surprise that it intends to make a big impression at the show.
The first world debut will be the Audi RS Q3. Exterior enhancements include 20-inch alloy wheels, carbon fibre door mirrors, front spoiler and air intakes and also a honeycomb grille. The engine is uprated to 360hp for the Q3 RS, which means a 0-62mph time of 5.2 secs and a top speed of 164mph.
Next up is the 'A6L technology', which is based on the long wheelbase A6 sold specifically for the Chinese market. Little else has been said about this exhibit.
The third concept is unknown at the moment, though Audi has confirmed that it is based on the Q3. On the sensible side, that could mean a hybrid or electric e-tron version, while fans of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible may be hoping for an open-topped variant of the Q3. We will not know for sure what it is until the show floor opens to the press tomorrow (April 23).
