Alfa Romeo has released pictures of the Brera coupe set to be unveiled at the
Geneva show in March. Based on the concept show at the same show in 2002, the Brera is intended to replace the aging
GTV coupe and Spider and will sell alongside the GT coupe.
Priced at around £25,000, the Brera will be available with a 2.4-litre JTD unit boasting 200bhp and two petrol engines: a 260bhp 3.2-litre V6 and a 185bhp 2.2-litre JTS. The Brera is set to go on sale before the end of 2005, in what is becoming a burgeoning £25,000 coupe niche market, aimed at offering elegance combined with a rewarding sporty character. Our test of the GT will be online soon, and hopefully we'll review the Brera early in 2006. Watch out for that on the main
Road Tests page.
