Naming your car after the most daunting circuit on Earth does tend to heap a lot of pressure on it but on paper at least the Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition looks like it might be able to live up to the heady moniker.
A new engine management system, turbocharger and sports exhaust see the Nürburgring Edition produce 202bhp while running on super unleaded - up from 189bhp of the standard Corsa VXR. Torque has also increased from 196- up to 206lb.ft. These increases see the 0-60mph spring completed in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 143mph. The Nürburgring, both the track and the car, are not about straight-line performance though.
The new Corsa benefits from a mechanical limited-slip differential, newly developed Brembo brakes and bespoke Bilstein springs and dampers that results in a 20mm drop at the front and 15mm at the rear over other hot Corsas.
The Corsa VXR Nürburgring Edition is on sale now, priced at £22,295.
