The Perodua Myvi is a cheap and cheerful supermini that is aimed at buyers looking for value for money in a reasonably good looking package. It is an economical and well specified car that has found many buyers who have fallen for its charms. However, the majority of buyers who favour these attributes are at the older end of the market and Perodua wants to attract the 'yoof' and so have teamed up with wheel brand Wolfrace to create the Myvi Wolfrace Design Concept.
The changes made to the car are the automotive equivalent of adding the latest Converse trainers and a 'New Era' baseball cap. The Myvi Wolfrace Design Concept includes polished 16-inch Wolfrace Shark Alutec alloy wheels, a leather and Alcantara interior, low profile tyres, lowered Eibach suspension, Wolfrace graphics pack, a 'phat' twin chrome exhaust and a Vibe audio system including bass enclosure - perfect for listening to Dubstep or whatever kids listen to these days.
These additions are on top of the Myvi's normal specification of air conditioning, power steering, electric windows and mirrors and an integrated radio/CD player. No performance tweaks have been made so the 1.3-litre engine still produces 86bhp, but this is a car for 'cruzing' in not racing. The Myvi Wolfrace Design Concept is scheduled for a limited production run commencing in October and while there is no word yet on price the £8,899 price tag of the current range topping Myvi Sport+ model should give an indication.
