What is it?
The SUT-1 is a new pick-up truck that has the Toyota Hilux and VW Amarok firmly in its sights. Built to Ssangyong's new design philosophy of 'Robust, Specialist, Premium' the SUT-1 boasts a crew-cab that can seat five people, Bluetooth equipped radio, reversing camera and cruise control.
Why's it here?Having only been shown as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the Ssangyong SUT-1 is now a production ready vehicle. Ssangyong is pitching the SUT-1 as a lifestyle vehicle and hopes the flatbed will be filled with bikes, skis and the like, but it's more likely to end up as a utlilitarian builder's workhorse.
Show stopper or floor filler?
The Ssangyong SUT-1 is a quantam leap from the Actyon it replaces in the Korean manufacturers line-up but enough to stop a show? Nope, it's a nice pick-up, but little more, and with the XIV-1 beside it on the stand, it will just get in the way as people clamber to get to the Juke rival.
