What's all this about?
You're looking at the next SsangYong Rexton SUV. Sort of.
What do you mean, 'sort of'?
We mean that this is actually the Limitless Interface Vehicle 2, or - rendered in a fashion that is less gibberish - the LIV-2. It's the final concept car based on the Y400 development model and it will debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, following on from the LIV-1's bow at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show.
What did the LIV-1 go on to be, out of interest?
The Tivoli XLV, after a fashion. So we have no doubt the LIV-2 - which SsangYong says is due to be launched as a production car in 2017 - will be the Rexton.
Are there any details?
Few, because this is classic pre-show PR teaser guff. The LIV-2 is propelled by either a Euro 6 2.2-litre diesel or a newly-developed 2.0-litre GDI petrol, while it is further said to have 'high levels of safety as well as a contemporary luxury interior equipped with a suite of advanced communication technologies'.
And is that it?
Yup. For now. Find out more once it makes a full debut in Paris, alongside mildly tweaked versions of the Tivoli and Tivoli XLV.
