What is it?
The Concept You is a further evolution of the Concept Universe that was shown in Shanghai earlier this year. Feedback received on the first car was taken into account when it came to designing the Swede D-segment car. It's fitted with a touchscreen infotainment system that allows occupants to 'swipe' information onto the HUD or it can be activated by just looking at it.
Why's it here?
Volvo is aiming to move further upmarket and challenge the German dominance in the executive market. The Concept You is being used to gauge the public's reaction to what could be a BMW 5 Series competitor. No doubt Volvo's Chinese owners would favour a four-door saloon over the fastback shape of the latest concept.
Show stopper or floor filler?
Full of the usual concept car touches like 'suicide' rear hinged doors and impossibly cool seats that will never make it to production the Concept You does present an exciting prospect especially with iPad style controls for all the ancillaries.
