To celebrate the success of its MX-5 GT race car Mazda has unveiled the MX-5 Sport Black and Mazda2 Black limited edition models. A total of 500 and 618 of each are allocated for the UK.
Inspired by the 275bhp, 850kg MX-5 GT competing in the current Britcar championship, the MX-5 Sport Black doesn't quite have the same amount of power - it's more of a cosmetic upgrade. However, it's available in the same shade of Spirited Green, though pearlescent white and red mica are also available.
Contrasting with the bodywork, the folding hard top is finished in black, while the 17-inch alloy wheels are painted gun metal grey. Black Limited Edition badges adorn the exterior, too.
Inside, there's black leather with contrasting stitching, piano black trim, Limited Edition mats and a numbered plaque. It's on sale now for £22,995, just £360 more than the standard 2.0-litre Sport Tech MX-5.
The Limited Edition Mazda2 Black is also available in a choice of green, white or red with a black vinyl roof. Other identifying features include matt black 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps and privacy glass.
Standard equipment includes Bluetooth, climate control and rear electric windows. Limited Edition floor mats and a unique numbered plaque are also fitted.
Prices for the Mazda2 start at £12,395 in red - other colours cost an additional £410.
The Mazda MX-5 GT's next race outing is at Snetterton on 13-14th August.
