BMW has gone down the scooter road before with its limited-success C1 range, but its new scooter is a battery-powered two-wheeler called the E-Scooter.
The concept E-Scooter has been conceived as an answer to urban commuting and comes with performance similar to large capacity so-called super scooters. This means the E-Scooter covers 0-62mph in around five seconds, but has a range of more than 60 miles to make it ideal for city riding.
A standard domestic plug socket can be used to charge the E-Scooter, which takes less than three hours to go from flat to fully charged.
At the moment, the E-Scooter is only a concept, but BMW insiders say a production model could be a reality if trials prove successful.
