Frugality will be the theme when Mazda reveals its facelifted Mazda2 at next month's
Paris Motor Show - along with the new Mazda3 and Mazda5.
The most obvious difference to the supermini is a new front end featuring Mazda's latest family face. An upgraded interior is also on the way. Euro V compliant engines are now in the line-up along with tweaks to the chassis aimed at improving comfort. An option of an automatic gearbox is also offered for the first time. Full details of the revised Mazda2 will be announced at the show.
Joining the Mazda2 in Paris will be the new Mazda5. The seven-seat MPV now comes with a 113bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine returning 45mpg while reducing CO
2 by 15 percent in comparison to the previous 2.0-litre diesel engine. The new engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The new Mazda3 will also be offered with the same turbodiesel engine, offering 6bhp more power and 12 percent more torque. With a six-speed manual transmission, fuel consumption is now over 53mpg, with CO
2 cut to 117g/km.
