Lamborghini launched its Ad Personam individualisation program at the
North America International Auto Show this week. The scheme allows customers to choose the exact colour and trim options to create a personalised Lamborghini. On the show stand a Gallardo LP560-4 and Murciélago LP640 demonstrate what is possible.
Both show cars are finished in a new colour - 'matt-luster' blue - is one of four matt-luster colours. The other finishes are Nero Nemesis (black), Bianco Canopus (white) and Marrone Apus
matt brown - which probably looks better than it sounds. If none of the standard colours appeal Lamborghini claims to be able to offer "any colour imaginable".
Both Detroit cars feature black upholstery with stitching in the same blue as the exterior. The Gallardo's seats, doors, pillars and headlining are trimmed in Nappa leather. The Murciélago uses Alcantara throughout the interior except for the suede-covered steering wheel. A variety of interior elements are finished in carbon fibre including the control panel for the air conditioning and the handbrake. Customers can choose to personalise the interior with a variety of colours including contrasting stitching, piping and different materials.
The emphasis is on allowing customers to express their individuality. Lamborghini says that the only limitation is that any modifications should not compromise the company's quality demands.
