| Pricing announcement | UK market | BMW X6 |
BMW has confirmed the pricing for its unusual new X6 Coupé. Promising to deliver strong performance with a conscious effort to minimise its effect on the environment, the latest X-model will utilise a number of cutting edge technologies as seen in the original concept.
The most frugal X6 will be the entry-level £41,695 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbodiesel, which boasts 235bhp and 383lb.ft of torque, resulting in an eight second sprint to 62mph and a 137mph top speed. With BMW's EfficientDynamics technology featuring across the entire X6 range, the diesel motor only produces 217g/km of CO
2 whilst returning 34.4mpg on the combined cycle.
Topping off the diesel line-up is the 286bhp xDrive35d. With a more useful 427lb.ft of torque, the £44,145 oil burner will hit 62mph in 6.9 seconds and go on to 147mph. Fuel economy and emissions come in at 34.0mpg and 220g/km respectively.
Two petrol engines will also feature in the new X6, starting at £42,730 for the 3.0-litre twin-turbo, six-cylinder engine. Boasting 306bhp and 295lb.ft of twist, the five-door coupé manages 62mph in 6.7 seconds with a 2mph top speed advantage over the top-diesel variant.
The second petrol variant is also the biggest and most powerful engine to feature in the X6. With 408bhp on tap and a maximum speed limited to 155mph, the V8 twin-turbo will hit 62mph from a standing start in just 5.4 seconds. Despite the German manufacturer's eco-technology though, the compact V8 manages just 22.6mpg on the combined cycle and emits 299g/km of CO
2. Prices for the xDrive50i will be announced closer to the X6's full UK release on 31st May.
All X6s will get BMW's Dynamic Performance Control coupled with its four-wheel drive xDrive system, ensuring a healthy level of grip and cornering ability, along with a high level of stability and safety. The pairing will also be helped by Dynamic Stability Control and additional Sports Suspension. BMW offers its Active Steering and Active Cruise Control, as well as its hydraulic anti-roll bar Adaptive Drive system, for an additional cost.
