Hot on the heels of the 911 Carrera and Carrera Cabriolet, Porsche has added the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4 Cabriolet to the Porsche 992 family. Slotting in beneath the 450hp S models, the C4 and C4 Cab have the 385hp/440Nm 'smaller-turbos' version of the 3.0-litre flat-six, while they of course have Porsche Traction Management (PTM) AWD and the usual eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox. Their traction advantages allow the Coupe to hit 62mph from rest in 4.2 seconds, while the heavier C4 Cab requires a still-sprightly 4.4 seconds for the same sprint; add the optional Sport Chrono Package, though, and those times drop to 4.0 and 4.2 seconds respectively. Similarly, the tin-top has the edge on the Cab for top speed (181- plays 180mph) and is a bit better on fuel (up to 28.2mpg combined, while the soft-top manages a best of 27.7mpg), but CO2 emissions are broadly similar at 210- and 211g/km. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) variable damping, big ventilated 330mm brakes with four-piston callipers and the 10.9-inch Porsche Communication Management are all on the standard equipment list, while Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with an electronically controlled limited-slip rear diff are options. As is a Sports exhaust, which equips twin oval tailpipes and gets rid of the main (visual) signifier that you're in the non-S 911, which is the OEM rectangular exhausts at the back. You might also notice that the C4 Coupe and C4 Cab sit on 19-inch front, 20-inch rear alloys, although the S-mimicking 20/21-inch combination is again 'speccable' for a fee. You can order either version of the 911 C4 now, with the Coupe starting at £88,101 and the Cabriolet rocking in at £97,746.
