What's this, then?
This is the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet, which will be launched at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show.
A convertible SUV? Don't see many of them...
No, indeed. Actually, the only other one we can currently think of is a Jeep Wrangler. The T-Roc Cabriolet will be rather less off-roady than that, though. It's more of a style thing.
What's the roof like?
Quick. It goes down in just nine seconds, and it'll work at speeds of up to 30mph. There's a pop-up roll-over bar behind the back seats, and a reinforced windscreen too. Oh, and a big 'ducktail' spoiler on the boot lid, to help manage the T-Roc's aero.
Inside, you can have the latest MIB3 infotainment system, which comes with an 'always-on' SIM card to keep the T-Roc Cabriolet connected to t'internet, and there's also the option of the 11.7-inch digital instrument pack, which VW now copies Audi in calling a 'Virtual Cockpit'.
What engines can I have?
There are just two choices, for now - either a 1.0 three-cylinder with 115hp, or a 1.5-litre four-cylinder with 150hp. Both are petrol-powered. You can also have your T-Roc in Style or R-Line spec, and standard kit will include sports suspension.
When can I have one?
You'll have to wait a bit - sales will start in early 2020.
