What's all this about?

Aston Martin is going to revive the Lagonda name as a marque dedicated to making hyper-luxury, pure electric vehicles (EVs). Last year at the Geneva Motor Show, it showed us the Lagonda Vision Concept and it has already confirmed that its first production vehicle will be an electric SUV. So here is our first glimpse of said Lagonda EV SUV (SUEV?). It's called the All-Terrain Concept, it takes its styling inspiration directly from that Vision Concept and it will make its debut at this year's staging of the Geneva shebang. No more details on it as yet, although Lagonda does say that the All-Terrain Concept's electric platform allows it to have an 'extraordinary' interior, in terms of style and space.

Is this the Aston Martin SUV we've been promised for so long? An EV?

No, you're getting the Lagonda All-Terrain Concept mixed up with the Aston Martin DBX, which will be more conventionally powered. Lagonda is very specifically Aston Martin's electric brand.

OK, so what will there be in Geneva in the form of 'proper' Astons?

The three core series sports cars will be there, all of them drool-inducing. Take your pick between a bright, Cosmos Orange Vantage, the harder and more focused DB11 AMR, or the even harder and even more focused DBS Superleggera.

Any words from Aston's CEO, Dr Andy Palmer?

It's almost like you knew this was coming, eh? The Lagonda All-Terrain Concept offers explicit clues regarding what will be the first Lagonda model to enter production, and further demonstrates how Lagonda's zero emission powertrain enables us to create spectacular cars that will radically redefine their sectors of the market. I'm expecting the Aston Martin Lagonda stand to be busier than ever, and very much look forward to seeing the crowd's reaction first-hand."

And when, precisely, is this year's Geneva show?

The 89th staging of the Swiss extravaganza runs from March 5-17.
