What's this then?
Remember that one-off Porsche 935 tribute? The one with Martini colours and a 700hp engine? Well this is the one you can actually buy...
This is the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, and it's been unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It gets the same 700hp 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six as the 935 tribute show car, and that drives the massive 310mm-wide rear tyres through a rigidly-mounted PDK gearbox.
It's been designed for track days, and the one or two racing series for which it's homologated, so there are huge 390mm front brake discs, a roll-cage, a six-point racing harness, paddle-shifters for the gearbox and an all-up weight of 1,390kg.
Want more? How about a carbon-fibre steering wheel, and a combo of traction control, stability control and anti-lock brakes, all of which can be set to the driver's preferred level of interference?
"For the upcoming years, our customers will not only race the GT2 RS Clubsport on track days but also at international motor racing events. We are currently holding very productive talks with the race organiser SRO," says Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser, Vice President Motorsport and GT Cars.
It'll set you back £360,000 before taxes. Still probably worth it for the ultimate version of the outgoing 991-era 911.
