What's all this about?
Bentley has created the Flying Spur Design Series by taking inspiration from the flash of colour on a suit lining, or the vibrant stitching on a leather saddle. Mulliner, Bentley's personal commissioning division, will be responsible for the special trim details, and only 100 vehicles will be produced. The Design Series is available across the Flying Spur range; V8, W12, V8 S and W12 S.
Sounds fancy, what do you get?
The main feature is a selection of five interior and exterior accent colour splits in Mandarin, Pillar Box Red, White, Kingfisher or Azure Purple. There's contrasting leather on the inside of the top roll and waist rail tops; giving customers a choice of three hide colours. The accent colour also appears under the perforated leather of the seats, the '12 o'clock stripe' on the steering wheel and on the sill tread plates.
There are exterior changes, too, depending on the model. The V8 S variant features black-machined 21-inch six twin-spoke wheels, while the W12 S comes with Directional Sports Wheels in gloss black, plus black brightwork around the headlamps and grille.
Any other interesting features?
In what is described as an automotive first, Mulliner has specified Titanium-enriched carbon fibre on the waist rails and fascia panel of the Design Series; previously this finish has only been used in the aviation industry.
