What's all this about?
Subaru will unveil the fifth-generation of its core model, the Impreza, at the New York Auto Show at the end of March.
Can I have the full lowdown on engines, tech, styling and so on?
No, you can't. And not because we're being difficult, but because this is one of those annoying automotive teaser releases. Thus, all we can show you is a bit of the car in this solitary picture, as well as adding that Subaru says the Impreza is 'the first of our next-generation strategic vehicles envisioned in the Mid-Term Management Vision 'Prominence 2020', announced in May 2014'.
But it's going to have four-wheel drive and boxer engines, isn't it?
Probably. Although Sonic Blue Mica paint and gold alloys for the inevitable WRX STI spin-off are not set in stone. Oh, wait, who are we trying to kid?! Of course they are.
Can you really tell me no more than that at this stage?
Sorry, nope. But have a peek at the Subaru XV Concept previewed in Geneva, as that was created to show off Subaru's design language going forward. Thus, the Impreza will look a lot like the XV Concept, only a bit lower.
