What's all this about?
Jeep has announced details of a new model in its Cherokee range, the Cherokee Overland. The flagship version was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and is priced from £38,745.
How do I spot the new model?
Look out for the polished bright front grille, new body-coloured door cladding and 18-inch polished alloy wheels. It also comes with bi-Xenon headlamps and an Overland badge on the tailgate. Four paint colours are offered: Deep Cherry Red, Bright White, Brilliant Black and Billet Silver.
What about equipment?
Inside, the Cherokee Overland Nappa Leather upholstery is available at no extra cost and can be ordered in black or a new pearl colour. The driver and front passenger also get four-way lumbar adjustment, heating and ventilation for their chairs. Other trim details include silver instrument bezels, a wood insert for the steering wheel and Berber floor mats. In-car entertainment is provided by an Alpine Premium sound system and Uconnect radio plus GPS navigation; all managed with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display.
Which engines do you get?
Under the bonnet there is a 2.2-litre, 200hp MultiJet II turbodiesel that drives through a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Active Drive I all-wheel drive is standard with Active Drive II available for an extra £1,205. Jeep claims 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 127mph. The emissions and economy figures are 149g/km CO2 and 50.4mpg respectively.
