What's all this about?
Volkswagen has revealed the Scirocco Black Edition, with a series of cosmetic additions to give the coupé extra 'kerb appeal'. Available in GT or R-Line specifications, the new edition is available from £23,135, representing a £550 premium over the standard model. The Black Edition cars can be ordered now with the first cars arriving in January 2016.
What do you get?
To give the Black Edition a distinctive look, the roof, door mirrors and alloy wheels are finished in black. The package also includes 90 per cent tinted rear windows. GT models come with 18-inch 'Lisbon' alloy wheels while the R-Line gets 19-inch 'Lugano' wheels.
Two turbocharged petrol engines are available, a 1.4-litre with 125hp and a 2.0-litre producing 180hp. Diesel power comes in 150- and 185hp variants. A six-speed manual transmission is standard with DSG available on all but the smallest petrol motor. Depending on powertrain choice the official fuel economy is between 67.3- and 35.3mpg.
Anything else I should know?
All Sciroccos come with the Composition Media system including 6.5-inch touch screen, DAB radio and Bluetooth. The Scirocco GT features Discover Navigation, two-zone climate control and parking sensors. R-Line models get different bumpers and side skirts plus R-Line interior trim; plus Dynamic Chassis Control, lowered suspension and bi-Xenon headlamps with dynamic curve lighting.
