What's all this about?

SsangYong's new B-segment crossover/SUV will arrive in the UK this summer with prices starting at £12,950. British buyers get a choice of petrol or diesel power with three trim levels: SE, EX and ELX. Customers can also take advantage of the 'My Tivoli' programme to personalise their car with special paint, interior and drivetrain options.

What do you get for your money?

The SE model is available only with two-wheel drive and comes with 16-inch alloy wheels. On the inside there is grey cloth upholstery, Bluetooth and six airbags. It also comes with three-mode 'smart steering' (normal, comfort and sport) plus a start-stop system for the petrol engine.

EX models start at £14,600 and feature 18-inch 'Spiral' alloy wheels plus front fog lights. The interior can be specified with grey or beige leather upholstery plus it comes with dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and a seven-inch touch screen audio system with rear-view camera. An automatic transmission is available with the petrol engine and the diesel can be ordered with automatic or four-wheel drive.

Top of the range Tivoli ELX models are available from £16,000 with the full range of engine and transmission options. The ELX can be identified by its 18-inch diamond cut alloys, rear privacy glass and back spoiler. Inside there's a smart instrument cluster, TomTom navigation and keyless starting. Personalisation options include the Styling pack and Red leather pack.

What about the My Tivoli options?

The Styling pack is a range of five colour schemes that finish the roof in a different hue to the body. There are also two additional body colours available under the My Tivoli programme: Jazz brown and Icecap blue. Standard colours are Flaming red, Grand white and metallic Dandy blue, Space black, Silent silver and Techno grey.

And the engines?

Some details of the diesel engine have been released; it displaces 1.6 litres, like its petrol counterpart, and develops 115hp. Despite having less power than the petrol variant the quoted maximum speed is 6mph higher at 112mph, no doubt thanks to the extra torque produced. No 0-62mph acceleration data or fuel consumption information has been released for the diesel but the CO₂ emissions figure is 113g/km for the two-wheel drive manual model.
