What's all this about?
Prices for the new Vauxhall Viva have been announced; the range starts at £7,995 with two trim levels available and cars are due to arrive in showrooms this summer. The Viva can be specified as SE and - harking back to the original Viva - SL; SE models are available additionally in 'Air Con' and 'ecoFLEX' versions.
What do you get?
Vauxhall has given the Viva plenty of standard equipment. Safety features include lane departure warning, emergency brake assist and six airbags. Other items include front fog lamps with cornering function, tyre pressure monitoring and electrically adjusted and heated door mirrors.
The SL is priced at £9,495 and adds climate control, a six-speaker sound system, USB port, Bluetooth and mobile phone portal. On the outside there are 15-inch alloy wheels.
Power comes from a 1.0-litre engine with 75hp, for the SE and SL; the official CO2 figure is 104g/km with fuel economy of 62.8mpg. The SE ecoFLEX costs £8,170 and gains a front spoiler, extended rear spoiler and low rolling resistance tyres to cut emissions to 99g/km and improve fuel economy to 65.7mpg.
Is there anything else?
Options include a Winter Pack (heated seats and steering wheel), rear parking sensors and electric glass sunroof.
