What's this all about?
Fiat will publicly debut the latest version of its popular 500 supermini at next week's Geneva Motor Show. Called the 500 Vintage '57, it harks back to a time when cars wore pastel hues and plain, chrome hubcaps.
What do you get?
Buyers will have a choice of pastel exterior colours to choose from along with contrasting white roof, spoiler, antenna and door mirror covers. The 16-inch alloy wheels take on a vintage look that is reminiscent of the original chrome hubcaps that adorned the first 500. Other styling features include the fitment of historical Fiat logos on the wheel centres, as well as on the front and rear of the car. Inside, the dashboard is finished in white while the seats are upholstered in 'Poltrona Frau' leather and feature ivory leather half-moon inserts that carry contrasting '500' logos embroidered in tan stitching.
What engines are available?
Both the 69hp 1.2-litre and the 85hp 0.9-litre TwinAir turbocharged petrol engines will be offered when the new 500 goes on sale. The car will also feature ESP stability control with ASR/MSR and Hill Holder for hill starts.
Is there anything else?
The specification will include air conditioning as well as Fiat's Blue&Me Bluetooth system as standard. Prices for the 500 Vintage '57 will start at £12,545 and it is due to go on sale in April.
