What's all this about?
Land Rover is churning out some 'Inspired by Britain' special editions of the Range Rover Evoque and here's the final one of three - it's called the NW8.
NW8? That sounds like a postcode or something.
That's because it is a postcode, specifically the one for the creatively fecund area of north-west London that is home to Abbey Road. Yes, that Abbey Road.
So does the NW8 have some sort of zebra crossing motif? That'd be ridiculous...
Ah. Right. Well. You might not want to look at the Evoque's key fob, then. As it has graphical representations of four Evoques (the LRX Concept, five-door, Coupé and the Convertible Concept), er... on a zebra crossing.
Seriously?! What else marks it out?
Following on from the SW1 Monochrome and SW1 Colour Evoque special editions, the NW8 is just a styling exercise based on the Dynamic model. All 1,000 of the limited run will be in the same Fuji White with Firenze Red contrast roof paint scheme you can see in the photos, with more red for the door mirrors and the Range Rover wording on the bonnet and tailgate. The 20-inch alloys are Narvik Black, the wing vents and grille are Santorini Black and there are further gewgaws like darkened light clusters at the front, clear items at the rear and black bumper inserts.
Inside are some natty leather colour choices, Evoque embroidery on the headrests and more red - if you opt for an automatic the rotary gear selector and the wheel-mounted paddles are finished in Anodised Red, while manual cars get a white gear lever insert with red graphics.
Presumably this is a UK-only special edition?
Umm, no. In fact, the UK won't be getting this car at all. Our homeland is merely an inspiration for Anglophilic Range Rover customers overseas. It was revealed at the Montreal Auto Show in Canada, so expect North America to get a healthy proportion of the NW8 allocation.
