What's all this about?
Mazda has given the CX-5 crossover a mild facelift, added some extra tech and upgraded the interior trim, resulting in the 2015 version. It'll be on sale from spring onwards, priced from £22,295 to £30,595 on the road.
How many models will there be and what are my choices?
It's a 16-strong model line-up, with three 2.0-litre petrol front-wheel drive variants with six-speed manual gearboxes, plus 13 powered by 2.2-litre diesels - six available as all-wheel drive cars - fitted with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. The three trim lines are SE-L, SE-L Lux and Sport Nav.
Can you tell me the extra toys fitted to the 2015MY CX-5?
Yup, manual front passenger seat height adjustment, an electronic parking brake, 'follow-me-home' headlights and Mazda's new Multimedia Commander are all slotted into the crossover, as well as a new seven-inch colour touchscreen in the centre console. Further up the ladder, the Sport Nav cars get 19-inch alloys, LEDs for the headlamps, daytime running lights and fog lamps and Integrated Navigation with three years of free map updating thrown in.
What about the tech?
Lane-keep assist, driver attention alert, adaptive headlamps and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert are some of the driver aids available on the new Mazda CX-5. SE-L Lux and Sport Nav models get Stone Leather upholstery, too.
