What's the news?
Volkswagen has introduced a new variant to the Golf hatchback range, the Golf Match. Replacing the SE trim level it gets extra equipment with no price increase; in three-door form the Golf Match is available from £19,680.
Exterior
The Match can be identified by new 16-inch alloy wheels. Exterior features also include front and rear parking sensors, front fog lamps and a 'mirror pack' comprising automatic folding mirrors with puddle lights and reverse activated dipping on the nearside.
Mechanicals
Customers can choose between one petrol and two diesel engines with power outputs ranging from 105hp for the 1.6-litre turbodiesel to 150hp for the 2.0-litre TDI via a 1.4-litre, 122hp TSI petrol motor. All units can be ordered with either manual or DSG automatic transmissions. Emissions ratings range from 99g/km for the 1.6 diesel to 123g/km for the five-door petrol model.
Anything else?
Standard equipment includes a range of safety equipment. Front Assist, City Emergency Brake, PreCrash occupant protection and Adaptive Cruise Control are part of the package. In addition there are rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, a self-dimming rear view mirror and Driver Profile Selection.
