What's the news?
Volkswagen has announced that its entire UK car line-up will come with electronic stability control (ESC) and DAB digital radio as standard. The change applies to 2015 model year vehicles from the up! to the Phaeton, which are available to order now.
Most models were already available with ESC, if not as standard then as an option; however it will be fitted to all 2015 cars. Stability control works to detect unusual vehicle behaviour and brake individual wheels or even reduce engine power to help bring the car under control.
Customers will also be able to access a wider range of radio stations thanks to standard DAB digital radio. The system is also able to receive FM broadcasts with many in-car entertainment systems also supporting Bluetooth, USB and aux-in connections.
Anything else?
Volkswagen has also confirmed that a plug-in hybrid will join the range. Prices for the Golf GTE will be confirmed before the order books open in August; with the first customers getting their cars before the end of the year.
