What's the news?

Four special versions of existing Jeep models were unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show this month, the Wrangler Sundancer, the Cherokee Urbane, Cherokee Sageland and the Zi You Xia, based on the all-new compact model, the Renegade.

Let's start with the Jeep Sageland concept, which is inspired by the Shangri-La region in China. Based on the new Jeep Cherokee, the vehicle gets Ivory Peal paint job and certain parts of the vehicle finished in Satin Bronze chrome. While that's on the outside, the interior gets Nappa leather seats with red and blue accent stitches. Chinese inspiration is visible on the inside as well, thanks to a Chinese knot design of the stitching.

The second show car based on the Cherokee, called the Urbane design concept, is more about the city life - or nightlife to be exact. It gets 'maximum steel' as the exterior colour, with black accents. Piano black interior with Chinese calligraphy on the door appliqué, and dark red Nappa leather with bright red stitching complete the package.

Jeep's Wrangler Sundancer uses chocolate brown colours with gold accents on the outside. It gets a luxurious interior too, thanks to the use of Berry Baltique leather, plus 'gold rush' interior paint. It also gets bronze tinted windows and 20-inch pale gold billet aluminium wheels.

The Jeep Zi You Xia is based on the vehicle that debuted recently at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and New York Auto Show, the 2015 Jeep Renegade. The Zi You Xia concept gets a warm chocolate grey exterior, dark chocolate coloured accents and piano-black interior trim. Large 20-inch bronze alloy wheels and brown leather upholstery finish off the Zi You Xia design concept.

Jeep's President and CEO Mike Manley said: "Jeep is one of the fastest growing imported brands in China and this is our largest Jeep market outside the U.S. It makes sense for us to use this year's Beijing Motor Show as a platform to explore how consumers react to those new Chinese-inspired ideas that may find their way into future production vehicles."
