What's the news?
With the Bentley Continental GT3 about to wade into the Europe-wide Blancpain Endurance Series (BES) in earnest this weekend, the first customer team of the Conti GT3 has announced its car for the British GT Championship (BGTC).
Generation Bentley Racing's blue, yellow and white machine will take part in the 2014 BGTC, driven by James Appleby and Steve Tandy, but will also itself star in round two of the BES at Silverstone on May 23-25, where sportscar driver and British Racing Drivers' Club's Rising Star of 2013, Jody Fannin, will join them behind the wheel.
Fannin said about his drive at Silverstone: "It doesn't get much better than racing a Bentley with its steeped racing heritage at Silverstone - the home of British motorsport. I'm really looking forward to joining Generation Bentley Racing, and hopefully this will lead to more outings this season.
"Seeing the car in the flesh with its new livery has really blown me away. I can't wait to drive the car with Steve and James, and start working with the team."
Anything else?
David Appleby, Generation Bentley's team owner and principal, added: "It's finally becoming a reality after a lot of hard work by the team and excellent support from Malcolm Wilson and Team M-Sport Bentley (which is also running the BES Continental). We have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us with testing on April 11 at Snetterton, before heading to the first race in the BGTC at Oulton Park on the April 19."
