What's the news?
Citroen has announced the prices and variants for its new C1. The city car will be available with a choice of two petrol engines and three trim levels. Body options include three- and five-door hatchbacks plus a convertible 'Airscape' model.
The range starts with the 'Touch' trim level, with features like anti-lock brakes, ESP stability control, six airbags, electric front windows and an MP3 compatible audio system. Moving up the table, there's the 'Feel' variant, which further adds features like air conditioning, body coloured mirrors and handles, a seven-inch 'Touch Drive' infotainment system, DAB radio, etc. The top-spec 'Flair' model adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a reversing camera and electrically heated seats.
Engine options include two petrol units, namely VTi 68 and 'PureTech' VTi 82. Other than the standard five-speed manual gearbox, the former gets an option of five-speed clutch-less 'Efficient Tronic Gearbox' or an 'Airdream' five-speed manual with stop-start.
Prices start at £8,245 for a three-door manual gearbox equipped C1 Touch VTi 68, going all the way up to £11,935 for the five-door C1 Airscape Flair VTi 68 ETG. The car goes on sale in July in the UK.
Anything else?
There are eight colours to choose from for the body, while the fabric roof on the Airscape versions will be available in three colours: Black, Grey and Sunrise Red. Apart from the above mentioned features, there are a few extras that can be added too, like climate control, automatic headlights, keyless entry and start.
